From the calendar it is apparent that we are forming a significant strategic alliance with MINDA Inc.
Michael Taylor has been instrumental in starting this ball rolling in a manner that is certainly gaining momentum. Lab Corps look forward to an enduring relationship. This alliance gives Lab Corps Crews the opportunity to use the skills they have learnt through the initiative to assist other young people and share their love for the dog.
The volunteers at Lab Corps have been the glue that has kept us motoring along in the first twelve months of our Pilot programme.
Jean Bird has been to TAFE - and back! - to Minda, the beach, to shows and of course to the core work of Lab Corps. Jean has taught the Crews the essentials in obedience and retrieving.
John and (princess) Dianna have brought War (Cavajal Labcorps Luvnwar) to the battlefield, and have supported us at trainings, beach walks and shows - even with equipment!
Christine, Amanda, Andrew and Mark have taken Charlie for 2 weeks - and they understand that at times time apppears to stand still! They have lent us the effervescent Roxie and made tie down stakes and contributed in so many other very meaningful ways.
Mark and Terri -Anne have lent us the lively Holly and worked to engage our young people and support them in significant ways.
Carla and Michael have learnt what a hot dog they have in Tully - She has responded to
challenges in ways they would never have imagined.
Mari has been nothing short of fantastic with her ability to engage young people and secure trust and respect.
She has certainly opened up her heart to the young people at Lab Corps. Mari's (Galestorm Labradors) contribute significantly to the success of Lab Corps.
Brenda has been the driving force behind formalizing the body of Lab Corps. She has been working behind the scenes to ensure that appropriate documentation is attended to and that a number of funding submissions have been put forward.
Andrew Daly, Chris Muldoon and RSB GDS staff have assisted significantly in the setting up of Lab Corps. Their expert knowledge has assisted us to actually get up and running. Thankyou Chris for supporting the seeds of a vision.
SACA (South Australia Canine Association) have been very supportive of Lab Corps, enabling our young people to participate in formal competitions for dogs, in addition to making their grounds available for training.
A special thankyou to Wendy - DCF. who has supported us and put us in touch with the great young people who comprise Lab Corps.
